The caliper ruler comes in two parts which slides inside itself allowing the user to measure and set exactly what is measured without needing to record the results separately in the exam room. Because of its ease of use, many CDC nurses prefer the caliper style ruler because it allows them to measure, set it aside, and continue to care for their patient without interruption.
